Courthouse Week Three – Tues 17th – maggie

News 17 August 2010 | 1 Comment

Today Dominic, Emma, Niamh and maggie worked the space together and also had some really good discussions on the process and how it is effecting us and our work.

Emma worked on creating a prayer tree with the yellow muslin and it is developing and growing as the day goes on.  Will be worth noting if this captures the attention of the public!prayer tree

Dominic got outside again and brought some wood with his to explore the space around the market square.  Needless to say he drew some looks but the public of tinahely are remaining unphased by these happenings. Lets keep them coming.dominic outside

Niamh placed her moths around the space and had some really beautiful moments of interaction with us as she ‘danced’ them into positions. The sound of their wings ‘beating’ was also really beautiful and evocative.  dominic and moths

Maggie spent some time in the dusty attic hiding from the public and discovering how dusty a moth can get in dark spaces. Coming back into the light she discovered that indeed jonathan there is lots happening below the floor boards of the courthouse and now the pile of chalk lives down there!  carried on the wings of the moths it was burried below ground as a symbol of the art of dying, a image that is strong in the space today for her.below ground

Using a torch she now wants to invite you to take  alook and see what is there for you :-) underground

I was in the court house today to see all that was going on and found it very interesting. I loved the interpretation developed around the doll and how she may have seen the world and how she wasn’t confined to just the courthouse as she managed to find a way to the outside world.
